The Scholarships will be awarded in the form of full or partial waivers against tuition fees.
Applicants who are in receipt of any donor funding (e.g. ORSAS, DFID, Chevening awards) will not be eligible for Patrick Stewart Scholarships.
Successful applicants for the Patrick Stewart Scholarships may not be eligible for other University scholarships e.g. progression awards for returning students
The Scholarship scheme is competitive and all applications will be considered on merit. Applicants must demonstrate outstanding academic performance which they are able to evidence within their course applications. The University reserves the right to request further evidence where necessary.
Candidates for the Scholarship applying for undergraduate courses must have minimum grades of BBB at A level or international equivalent
Candidates for the Scholarship applying for postgraduate courses must hold or expect to achieve a UK 2:1 honours degree or equivalent
The application requires a detailed and original Statement of Purpose (500 words) which should set the applicant’s academic achievements in a personal and professional context.
English Language (evidenced by formal qualification i.e. IELTS, TOEFL or other acceptable measure) will also be taken into account when judging applications.
The submission of falsified or counterfeit documents will disqualify the applicant from consideration. Personal statements which are found to be plagiarised or copied will also result in the applicant’s disqualification.
Incomplete application forms will not be considered.
Confirmation of scholarships will be notified to successful applicants by 30 August 2008.
The decision of the awarding panel is final.
Deadline
The deadline for submission of applications is 31 July 2008. Applications will not be considered after that date. Preliminary notification will be sent to successful candidates in June 2008.
